Cedar Point Campground – Lighthouse Point

Distance from Cedar Point: 0.4 miles about an 8-10 minute walk from the campground to the Magnum Gate (shuttles are also provided)

If you’re looking for campgrounds near Cedar Point, you can’t get much closer than staying on property at the Cedar Point RV campground, Lighthouse Point! Named the Best RV Park in Ohio by Reader’s Digest, this campground features 156 cottages and cabins, along with 145 full-hookup RV campsites. The resort features an outdoor pool and hot tub, a water play area, access to the Cedar Point beach, complimentary Wi-Fi, and much more.

As an added bonus, guests of Lighthouse Point also enjoy exclusive perks such as early entrance to Cedar Point, shuttle services throughout the Cedar Point peninsula, and special deals on ticket packages.

Our favorite part about staying at Lighthouse Point was the quick access to the park and the early entry, allowing us to enjoy our favorite coasters before the crowds arrived. The proximity also made it easy to take breaks to check on our dogs and quickly return to the park without losing much time.

In our opinion, Lighthouse Point is not just a campground but an extension of the Cedar Point experience!


Sandusky Bayshore KOA Holiday – KOA Cedar Point

Distance from Cedar Point: 3.5 miles

Open: Seasonally, April 1 – October 31

Sandusky KOA Holiday is a versatile choice for campers, offering a range of accommodations including full-hookup RV campsites, tent sites, and cozy cabins. This KOA is packed with amenities such as two heated swimming pools, a KampK9 dog park, and recreational facilities for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and a gem mine. The campground also hosts themed weekends and a weekend activities program, providing entertainment for all ages—making it an ideal destination for families seeking camping near Sandusky, Ohio.

If you travel with pets, we highly recommend booking one of the campsites with a pet pen (pictured below). Our corgis loved having their own space to play and relax outside!

We’ve stayed at this campground several times and had a great experience each time. During our most recent visit, we enjoyed the “Frightober” weekend, where the staff went above and beyond to create a spooky atmosphere for both kids and adults.


Bayfront Resort at Cross View

Bayfront Resort at Cross View, a new addition to the Sandusky RV camping scene, opened its doors in 2023.
